AI4TeenDep is a machine learning-based solution designed to interpret data related to depression in adolescents. It uses executive function scales and speech recognition to identify patterns associated with depressive symptoms, facilitating earlier and more accurate assessment.

AI4TeenDep (IDI-20240116): An enhanced 5G-powered platform for predictive, preventive, personalized, and participatory healthcare.
Horus ML, in partnership with IDavinci and as part of the international EUREKA 5G4PHealth project, has developed an artificial intelligence system for screening adolescents for depression based on executive functions, voice, and text. The project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the CDTI.
Duration: March 2024 – April 2026
Scope: Spain
Investment: €237,047
EU Funding: €104,130
Objectives: AI models for executive functions, AI models for audio and text, multimodal models, model validation, and AI APIs (AIEngine).
Results: a multimodal database of 627 adolescents; a multimodal model with an AUC of 0.93 and a sensitivity of 0.98; AIEngine deployed and integrated into the platform; a solution that is technically, clinically, and commercially viable.

The detection of depression in adolescents can be complex due to the variability in the presentation of symptoms and the lack of objective tools. This can delay diagnosis and treatment, severely affecting the mental health of young people. AI4TeenDep addresses this challenge by providing a technological tool that complements clinical assessment, improving accuracy and efficiency in case identification.
